What to Bring:

Note: there are no thorns, or cacti to contend with on these hunts. |
- 12, 20 or 28 gauge shotguns
- Recoil reduction equipment. Shoulder pads, Kevlar lined vests, etc.
- Lockable travel gun case (stainless steel or heavy duty fiberglass)
- We have cleaning rods & patches; but please bring oil, choke tubes, tools, and accessories
- Bring modified chokes, improved cylinders, or improved-modified
- Dark colored, or camouflage hunting clothes and hats
- Any gun cleaning equipment you might need
- Upland hunting boots (preferably waterproof, sometimes there is standing water)
- Be prepared for temperature changes: we recommend both wool and cotton socks
- Thermal underwear: Lightweight only. Only between July1st and Sept. 30th
- Hearing protection: Earplugs
- Wool sweaters, long sleeve cotton shirts, and polar fleece zip-up tops. Layering is important. Depending on the time of year it can be 40F and windy in the morning, then end up in the high 70’s and calm winds by the afternoon
- Side carry shooting pouch for shells, or shell vest
- Leather shooting gloves are an absolute must! Or you will have blisters! Please see video.
- Lightweight rain suit, and waterproof hat. You won’t need it unless you don’t bring it. ?
- Shooting glasses, sunglasses, 30spf sunscreen or stronger, and Chap Stick
- Comfortable clothes for relaxing around the hunting lodge. Jeans, tennis shoes, baseball caps, etc.
- All electricity is 220 in Argentina (European style) we have converters for your 110 stuff like: laptop computers, digital cameras, Palm devices, electric razors, etc. But the hotels in Buenos Aires and the airports do not.
- Shaving kit: Mylanta, Advil (or preferred painkiller), Neosporin, Band-Aids, vitamins, prescription medications, etc.
- Travel alarm clock
- Insect repellant

Planning Flights and Getting to/from Uruguay
American Airlines flight 989 flies nonstop from Miami, Florida (MIA) to Montevideo, Uruguay (MVD) 3 times per week. Clients will depart the US on Friday evening (11 PM) and arrive into Montevideo, Uruguay at 9 AM the next morning. Contact Los Gauchos for assistance with flight information.
This trip is also available with flying into/out of EZE -the Buenos Aires, Argentina International airport. This provides many more options (carriers and departure cities from the US and Europe). Again, all flights are overnight and arrival is early AM into Buenos Aires, Argentina.
day 1: arrive Montevideo Uruguay 9 AM (AA 989) OR via EZE (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
You will be met by our staff and host who will have a sign with your group's name on it. You will transfer to Paysandu, Uruguay in a private charter and shoot doves in the late afternoon.
The drive time is about 4 hours from both MVD (Montevideo, Uruguay) and EZE (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
day 2: pigeons over decoys in the AM and doves in the PM *or Perdiz
day 3: same OR if Cast and Blast Package you will fish (freshwater fishing) for dorados all day.
day 4: morning hunt and after nice Uruguayan lunch and recap of great hunting and fishing in Uruguay you will transfer back to Montevideo or Buenos Aires for the flight back to the US or Europe.
